Warning Signs of an Abusive Relationship:
The person I am with (answer Yes or No):

  • Accuses me of flirting or cheating
  • Constantly checks up on me or makes me check in
  • Controls what I wear and how I look
  • Tries to control what I do and who I see
  • Tries to keep me from seeing my family and friends
  • Has mood swings-gets angry and yells at me one minute and the next minute is sweet and apologetic
  • Makes me feel nervous like I'm "walking on eggshells"
  • Puts me down, calls me names or critizes me
  • Makes me feel like I can't do anything right
  • Makes me feel like nobody else would want me
  • Trheatens to hurt me, my family or friends
  • Threatens to destroy my things
  • Grabs, pushes, shoves, chokes, punches, slaps, holds me down, throws things or hurts me in some way
  • Pressures or forces me to have sex or go farther than I want to
